How to Read a Folio from the Codex of the Synapse

Every Folio from the Codex of the Synapse shares five symbolic elements: the Head (also known as the "Floor"), the Index (or "Room"), the Image (or "Time"), the Path ("Reference Labyrinth"), and the Commentary ("Chain"). A basic understanding of these elements greatly enhances navigation of the Synapse Myth. On the sample Folio below (C6.3), simply click on the appropriate area to access helpful information on each of the Five Elements. Please note that the Commentary, which exists outside of each Folio, independent of the other Four Elements, is displayed here for convenience.
