Codex of the Synapse: Folio C5.1
The Sea of Wholes
In the simplest of Synapse Myths, the Keepers describe an endless white plane, evenly tiled with holes, appearing as black circles. Each hole leads to a discreet local world.
The myth however is more complex than it first seems. The holes themselves, if one could fly high above the white plain, form a pattern of dots, evenly spaced but not so equal in size as they first appeared. From an even greater distance, the dots blur together in fields of gray, tones of light and dark. Still further and they form an image, itself part of a set of local-world image, which resides itself in yet an other Synapse on a different plane of the hierarchy.
